Harwood floor drying #2

Once it has been determined that the floor can be salvaged by in-place drying, the first step is to determine a dry goal for the hardwood and subfloor. Directing warm dry air under and between the boards, is the most effective eay to dry the hardwood. The wood is considered dry when:

  • Hardwood and sub-sufaces are within 2-4 percentage points of mormal EMC.
  • Sub-sufaces below harwood are dried to within 2-4 percentage points of the harwood.
After the wppd flooring has been dried to an acceptable moisture level, It is important to remind people to allow sufficient acclimation time before the floor is reinished.
