Ozone treatment for bad odor

Ozone treatment for odor

Ozone treatment

An ozone generator will not only remove pet odors but other troublesome odors caused by mold and mildew, fire, water damage and others. Ozone is considered "natures deodorant" and can get rid of many types of nasty smells
What does Ozone smell like..... think of after a rain & lightning storm..like pictured below.  That clean smelling fresh air that lingers.

When the odor problem is severe a professional will do what is known as a "shock treatment". A shock treatment will introduce a highly concentrated burst of ozone into a larger area. When a shock treatment is done people, pets, and even plants can not remain as the ozone in such high quantities can be a health hazard.  ServiceMASTER of Salt Lake  801-506-0027

In disaster restoration  services we will will use ozone treatment to remove odor for everything from clothes to furniture.  We even did our business neighbors truck..they had an employee who smoked in the truck, so you know it smelled like crap and you would not be able to breathe. The new drivers could not use it because they could not breathe . They brought the truck over...we hooked up an ozone machine for a 6 hour cycle and  WOW, you could not detect any odor.

Mold cleanup, ten things to know

Mold ten things to know

When Mold Is found, call the experienced service provider- ServiceMaster of Salt Lake      801-506-0027

Ten Things You Should Know About Mold

  1. Potential health effects and symptoms associated with mold exposures include allergic reactions, asthma, and other respiratory complaints.
  2. There is no practical way to eliminate all mold and mold spores in the indoor environment; the way to control indoor mold growth is to control moisture.
  3. If mold is a problem in your home or school, you must clean up the mold and eliminate sources of moisture.
  4. Fix the source of the water problem or leak to prevent mold growth.
  5. Reduce indoor humidity (to 30-60%) to decrease mold growth by: venting bathrooms, dryers, and other moisture-generating sources to the outside; using air conditioners and de-humidifiers; increasing ventilation; and using exhaust fans whenever cooking, dish washing, and cleaning.
  6. Clean and dry any damp or wet building materials and furnishings within 24-48 hours to prevent mold growth.
  7. Clean mold off hard surfaces with water and detergent, and dry completely. Absorbent materials such as ceiling tiles, that are moldy, may need to be replaced.
  8. Prevent condensation: Reduce the potential for condensation on cold surfaces (i.e., windows, piping, exterior walls, roof, or floors) by adding insulation.
  9. In areas where there is a perpetual moisture problem, do not install carpeting (i.e., by drinking fountains, by classroom sinks, or on concrete floors with leaks or frequent condensation).
  10. Molds can be found almost anywhere; they can grow on virtually any substance, providing moisture is present. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet, and foods

Four Knows of Drying a home flood

The Four "Knows of Drying"

Four question that Summarize the information that must be obtained , documented and evaluated throughout the restorative drying process.  When left unanswered, these questions are the source of the most common deficiencies in inspection and documentation.  The four key questions, or "knows," of dying are:

  1. What's wet?
  2.  How wet is it?
  3. Is it drying?
  4. Is it done?
Only through insepection, monitoring and documentation will answer these four questions.  A gap in this process will result in improper dryin, addional water damage, and compromised structual cleaniness and intergrity. Proper instruments and tools are a key ingredient to successful completion of the drying process.( RSA- Restoration Sciences Academy) RD 101
